Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has enjoyed a considerable amount of mainstream success over the course of his career, dating back to his 2007 debut, I Created Disco, which reached No. 8 on the United Kingdom album charts. His follow ups, Ready for the Weekend in 2009 and 18 Months in 2012, both reached No. 1 in England, while Motion and Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 went to No. 2 in England, and No. 5 and No. 2 in the United States, respectively.
In addition to his consistent album sales, Calvin Harris has released a number of popular singles as both a primary and featured artist. In the United Kingdom, Harris scored No. 10 and No. 3 hits with his first two singles, while I’m Not Alone became the DJ’s first No. 1 hit in 2009. Following four consecutive No. 2 charting UK singles, Harris scored his first No. 1 single in 2012 with Sweet Nothing, featuring Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. The song was an international success, achieving top 10 status in multiple markets, including his first top 10 hit in America.
Harris has enjoyed four additional No. 1 hits in England, most recently 2017’s Feels alongside Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and Big Sean. However, Harris’s greatest success came in 2011 with Rihanna’s We Found Love, a track on which Harris featured. We Found Love hit No. 1 in a number of international markets and was the longest running No. 1 single in the United States for 2011, ultimately selling 10.5 million copies and becoming one of the most successful singles of all time.
